Simon Cowell Loves Dogs and Donates Huge Sum
Simon Cowell has been giving £100,000 a year to Exorcist child star Linda Blair's dogs' home. Cowell, who spends half of his time in Los Angeles, is a leading supporter of the home for abandoned mutts Blair started in the Toluca Lake area.
A friend told the Sun newspaper: "Simon is a huge dog lover but because he's always travelling he can't have one. He thought it would be a great idea to help Linda out. He doesn't like to talk about it as he sees it as a private arrangement." Blair's Regan was possessed in the cult 1973 thriller. In recent years, the actress has exercised a keen interest in animal-welfare causes. Her website states: "Due to the difficult times upon us, we are searching for every means possible to continue supporting animals who desperately need our help." The connection may lie in Cowell's long history of supporting dog charities. He has expressed a desire to leave part of his £120 million bachelor's fortune to a dogs' home, saying, "I've never made a will and don't want to think about death. I'd have to leave some to a dogs' charity."
