The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game became a phenom when someone realized that Bacon has appeared in so many films, that you can count the number of "degrees" it takes to connect any other celebrity to the actor.

Say, for instance, you want to find the number of degrees of separation between George Clooney and Kevin Bacon.

Yossi Matias, the Engineering Director and Head of the Israeli Engrineering Center, explains the power of Google's search engine to easily determine the Bacon calculation.

Matias explains, "It's interesting that this small-world phenomena when applied to the world of actors actually shows that in most cases, most actors aren't that far apart from each other. And most of them have a relatively small Bacon number."
