Couple Spotted Leaving Romantic Dinner in LA

Sigh. We had hoped this was just a rumor.

Last week, when rumors first surfaced that freshly divorce Katy Perry was hooking up with John "The Player" Mayer, we didn't want to believe them. But new photographic evidence seems to prove she's the latest in a long line of John's celebrity hookups.

After a late night meal, the two were snapped leaving the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles in Mayer's car.

It's not that John's a bad guy, he just has a nasty habit of kissing and telling. And then telling some more. Remember how he called Jessica Simpson "sexual napalm" in bed during a Rolling Stone interview? Or the rant he went on in front of reporters about his intimate breakup with Jennifer Aniston? Safe to say, discretion isn't his thing.

Then again, maybe the press is exactly what Katy's looking for. Her ex, Russell Brand has made no secret of the fact he's got a new girlfriend in starlet Isabella Brewster. Maybe getting spotted with Mayer was her way of telling Brand, "Hey, I'm doing just fine, too."

Katy, if that's the case, then I guess we're fine with it. But just make sure he's serious about you before you go showing him what's under your whipped-cream spouting bra, OK?
