'Star Wars' Fan? Enroll in Lightsaber Class! [VIDEO]
May the Farce be With Students of This Jedi Wannabe Class
Who wouldn't have fun in a class where you're not only allowed, but encouraged to twirl and slash a lightsaber like a real Jedi?
Just ask students of this real "Jedi" course that's taught in San Francisco by Alain Bloch, a man dedicated to helping his fellow Star Wars devoted get their Darth Vader-battling skills in order.

"We're kind of indulging in their childhood and that sort of fantasy of being a real Jedi," Bloch says of his adult students, who are both male and female and who are occasionally treated to an appearance by Darth Vader himself.
Well, maybe not the Darth Vader, but a Darth Vader.
And yes, the students are well aware that not everyone might see taking a lightsaber class as a worthwhile pursuit, but at least one student shared a rather Yoda-like philosophy with a local NBC news reporter.
"If you move forward and act like, 'Hey, this is me, this is what I like,' then nobody's gonna question you," she said.
It's a sweet sentiment.

As for Bloch, he has some lofty goals for the course: he wants to eventually teach his students to re-enact the entire five-minute Luke vs. Darth Vader fight scene from the end of The Empire Strikes Back, a scene that involves 90 lightsaber maneuvers.
We'll just be happy if none of these Star Wars fans accidentally poke each other's eyes out.
