That Means Steven Tyler Can Now Drive 275 MPH. You've Been Warned

If we had to come up with a list of celebrities we'd trust to get behind the wheel of a car that can go 275 miles per hour, it's pretty safe to say that Steven Tyler's name would never come up.

Yet, the Aerosmith frontman and American Idol judge just became the owner of the world's fastest street-legal car, the $1.1 million hand-built convertible Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, so be warned that he's on the loose in a car that can go 275 MPH, MSNBC.com reports.

Tyler's car, one of only five 2013 models of the Hennessey Spyder to be made (and the only convertible model of the car), can accelerate to 200 mph in a mere 15.9 seconds, which, again let us stress, does not leave you with much time to get out of the way of the oncoming Steven Tyler. Who, while doing nothing more than sitting in his Idol judge's chair, barely seems, um, fully present, much of the time.

A company spokesman says Tyler's car was custom-made for him, thanks to some specifications the singer asked for.

"We had to make a few structural changes to our integrated rollcage in order to be able to fit the removable top," John Hennessey, the car's creator and owner of Hennessey Performance Engineering, said. "This increased the weight of our vehicle by about 30 pounds to a curb weight of 2743 pounds (1244 kilograms). We decided to increase the Venom GT's power to 1244 bhp to maintain our 1 horsepower per 1 kilogram power to weight ratio."

Yep, not only is Tyler rollin' around at crazy speeds, but his car weighs even more than the average car.

The "Dude Looks Like a Lady" singer will likely be driving his sporty speedster around this summer, as Aerosmith kicks off its "Global Warming Tour" in Minneapolis on June 16.
