Super Bowl: ManCrunch And Other Banned Commercials
The worst of the worst?
While some folks watch the Super Bowl for the football, most of us just want to see some funny commercials. This is the time of year when companies shill out millions of dollars just for a 30 second chance at making you laugh. Unfortunately, some ads are deemed too racy for our sensitive eyes. Here are a few choice ones.
So you're sitting watching the halftime commercials during the Super Bowl, with all your family and friends gathered around ready for a good laugh. One commercial comes on of two guys watching a football game, cheering and being manly. Suddenly, they start sloppily making out... and your jaw hits the floor.
Yep. That's the banned ad from ManCrunch.com, a dating website for gay men. CBS rejected the ad, saying it doesn't meet the network's "standards." Of course, ManCrunch has cried foul.
"If the ad showed a man and woman kissing it would have been accepted," ManCrunch spokesperson Elissa Buchter said. "It's discriminatory that they won't show it."
So what do you think? Is this commercial of two guys touching really too racy compared to a game where men pound each other and touch balls for three hours?
But this ManCrunch ad was certainly not the first to be rejected by network executives, and it definitely won't be the last. Here are a few other examples of commercials that have been banned from airing in the past.
