Susan Boyle Sets Amazon Record for Pre-Orders
That dreamed she dreamt is coming true!
Wow! Susan Boyle came out of nowhere and shocked people all over the world as she performed on Britain's Got Talent. We kind of thought she was just a phase (or a fun video to watch on YouTube), but it turns out she's the real deal and it looks like she's here to stay. And now she's setting more records with her upcoming album I Dreamed a Dream.
Most of us can remember when we first heard Susan Boyle sing "I Dreamed a Dream" on Britain's Got Talent. No, not because we were watching Britain's Got Talent (we can't even get that show in North America), but most likely because someone sent us her video from YouTube and told us to watch it.
So, we did. And we were amazed by her talent. She ended up coming in second place in the show, but she definitely doesn't seem any worse off for it. And now her album has broken the record for pre-sales on Amazon.com in both America and in the world! That's a major accomplishment and something Susan Boyle should really be proud of.
Amazon didn't give actual numbers, but they say the album has surpassed all others in terms of pre-sales. The Chairman of Columbia Records says, "One of the things that is so unique about Susan Boyle is her ability to touch people around the world. We're excited that I Dreamed a Dream holds the new record for global pre-orders and that Amazon's customers have supported her album in this way." As if it weren't enough bringing Demi Moore to tears!
We hope Susan's album lives up to all the hype. We know she has a tendency for getting overly-stressed and we wouldn't want everything to come down on her at a time she should be so happy. Did you pre-order the album or are you planning on listening to it when it comes out?
