Susan Boyle's Album Will Surprise People, Says Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell has been talking up Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle's debut album. Cowell told US TV show Extra: "She's extraordinarily good on record.

We're not going to throw out some souvenir album of show tunes, which everyone expected. "We went through about 350 to 400 songs to choose from. She was blown away by some of the song choices. And she's going to surprise a lot of people with this record. [It will be released] in the fall." Boyle suffered a nervous breakdown when she came second on the hit reality TV show but Cowell revealed he was unsure if she would have reacted the same way if she won. He said: "I don't know. I think it was all boiling up. You've got to understand this lady had lived alone with a cat for years and years and years and she was really, literally, the most famous person on the planet."
