TV Plot Twists We Love And Hate
These storylines had us cheering and jeering.
As we head towards mid-season, we survey some plot twists and turns that left us both happy and snappy.
Taking a Wrong Turn
Making Jeffrey Dean Morgan return again and again to Grey's Anatomy for the purposes of driving Izzie Stevens totally insane. We get that you want to boot her from the show--we might feel the same way given her boo-boo attitude--but couldn't you come up with something a little less Hallmark Hall of Fame?
Turning Gossip Girl's sweet, spunky Little J into a snot-nosed, snarky punk. Bad call, Upper East Siders. Only the nightmarish eye shadow and lawn mower-ed hair were worse. Moving forward, a storyline where creative and cool aren't mutually exclusive, please.
Kicking Dr. Erica Hahn off of Grey's Anatomy with such a shoddily constructed episode. Being a lesbian on television is apparently cool so long as you're skinny, pretty, and under 30.
Moving in the Right Direction
Getting rid of Kimmie Keegan (a.k.a. La Lohan) on Ugly Betty. The storyline was boring and predictable and She of the Leggings just was mucking up the Mode glossiness.
Giving Peter Bishop a back-story on Fringe. We'll take badassery and brains on Joshua Jackson any day of the week and twice on DVR Sundays.
Pushing Entourage's Vincent Chase towards the B list. It's nice to see Vinnie experiencing a post-Medellín meltdown. His drop from superstar to regular star may just give him some much-need grace and gravitas. And we know he'll bounce back. He's Aquaman!
