Taylor Lautner to Play Superhero Max Steel?
From claws to capes.
Riding the Twilight wave, werewolf teen Taylor Lautner is starting to get some big time acting roles. In the latest rumor about possible upcoming jobs for the young actor, Lautner is apparently in negotiations to star as teen superhero Max Steel.
Based on an animated show that ran on the Kids WB and the Cartoon Network from 2000 to 2002, the film will follow the story of a young athlete named Josh McGrath who, after being exposed to the power of nanotechnological machines, is granted superhuman abilities.
The original TV show only ran for three seasons, and not many folks in the U.S. know about it, but in the rest of the world Max Steel is a hit. His toyline by Mattel is still one of the highest selling set of action figures in the world.
.
There's been no word yet from Lautner's publicist, but considering the success of New Moon, we're guessing he could get pretty much any role he wants right about now. And who knows? Maybe Max Steel will make Taylor the next big American action star.
