Taylor Swift Donates $500K For Nashville Flood Relief
Did we need another reason to love Taylor Swift?
Taylor Swift is beautiful both inside and out. And she's proving that even more by donating $500,000 for flood relief in Nashville. Not only will this money help the city immensely, but hopefully it will also encourage others to donate!
Nashville, Tennessee, is in pretty desperate need of money right now. In fact, it's being said that cleanup and repair from the floods this week is going to cost more than $1 billion. Whoa! Taylor Swift is trying to lessen the need a little bit by contributing $500K.
Taylor moved to Nashville when she was 14, recently bought a house there, and definitely calls it home. She says, "Being at home during the storm, I honestly could not believe what was happening to the city and the people I love so dearly... Nashville is my home, and the reason why I get to do what I love. I have always been proud to be a Nashvillian, but especially now, seeing the love that runs through this city when there are people in crisis."
And we're sure Nashville is loving Taylor Swift right now. Taylor's big announcement was made last night during a telethon, "Flood Relief with Vince Gill and Friends." On May 16, another telethon will be help on country music network GAC and will include starts like Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Rodney Atkins.
