The Jacksons (Without Michael) Embark On First Tour Since 1984

16 date tour begins today at Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada

Sometimes it's best to leave things alone. (Think: New Coke, or the current lineup of Guns N' Roses.) Such is the case with the Jacksons who're set to reunite for a 16-date tour.

While it will likely be a boon for several casino dates, hardcore Jacksons fans will more than likely stay away since, this time, there's no way Michael is going to be on stage with his brothers and he was always the big draw.

The Jacksons (Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Tito) launch their Unity tour today, and their final gig will be on July 29 at the Snoqualmie Casino Amphitheater in Washington. It will be the first time that the brothers have toured together since their Victory shows in 1984.

Ranging in ages from 54-61, will the four Jackson brothers be able to draw the general public's attention, even with the absence of Michael? Some skeptics, like Gary Bongiovanni, editor-in-chief of concert industry trade publication Pollstar, don't think so, telling the Associated Press what many others were thinking: "The Jacksons were really all about Michael."

Nonetheless, The Jacksons are determined to test the waters, apparently planning to release a new album and then follow it up with another tour. Michael was obviously the main attraction, but perhaps for some, a little walk down memory lane goes a long way.
