'The Voice' Lands Post-Super Bowl Time Slot
Christina Aguilera's Returning to the Super Bowl
She may have blown the lyrics to the National Anthem at last year's big game, but newly single Xtina is going back for more. Before it premiered last month, "The Voice" had received a lot of criticism; it was too much like American Idol, the judges (including Aguilera, Maroon 5's handsome Adam Levine and "F You" singer, C Lo Green) were too random, and that nobody would ever watch it. But the critics were wrong and The Voice became an instant hit and has already been renewed for another season.
According to NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt, "There is no better showcase on television than to follow the Super Bowl, and we believe The Voice is deserving of such high-profile exposure... The attention-grabbing blind audition phase of The Voice has mass appeal and will fittingly team up with the biggest sporting event of the year."
