Movie Theater Accidentally Shows Horror Movie to Little Kids

As a parent, you do your best to protect your kids from inappropriate messages, trying to keep them innocent for as long as possible.

Kids who happened to go to a showing of a kids' movie at a Nottingham, U.K. theater left not quite as innocent as when they entered.

Parents who took their kids to a screening of Madagascar 3, instead were accidentally shown Paranormal Activity 4.

Oops.

A Yahoo! Movies U.K. blog recounts the horrifying events, noting that the parents grabbed their children and ran out of the theater.

The opening scene of the horror movie tipped them off to it not being quite a kid-friendly animated movie.

One mom, Natasha Lewis of Bulwell in Nottingham, said the scene was "enough to make grown men jump, so you can imagine the terror in these young faces."

Lewis added, "Everybody just scrambled for the exits, all you could hear were children crying and screaming. Everyone was very upset. I've watched a few horror films in my time but the Paranormal Activity films are the scariest since The Exorcist. It was only about two minutes worth of the film but it was enough to scar them for life."

The theater did refund their money and showed the correct film for any patrons who were still there.

A spokesperson for the theater noted, "We take matters such as this very seriously and are currently working with technicians to ensure this does not happen again."

My only question is, weren't parents tipped off that it wasn't the right movie when they were watching the trailers?
