MJ on Broadway?

Most of us remember the "Thriller" music video as one of the coolest songs about zombies and were-monsters to come out of the '80s. It was a time when Mike Jack was in between "Black and White," a sort of geri-curled shadow of "I Want You Back," and his mania hadn't yet dangled itself out in the open. Yes, it was a time of joy.

Well, what if we told you plans are now in the works to make Thriller entirely joyless? In other words, it's gonna be a musical.

As yet another pop-culture cornerstone to be cannibalized into an on-stage onslaught (see Evil Dead), Thriller has all the potential to have epic costume and set designs, and even a greater soundtrack. But Broadway tends to, um, soften things, so we'll hold any excitement until we're proven wrong.

Besides, we don't know if MJ can break our hearts any more.
