Tiger Woods Splurges on NYC Bachelor Pad
Tiger's post-divorce buy not as selfless as Elin's.
We reported Monday on what Elin Nordegren plans to purchase with the reported $65 million to $100 million she'll get from her divorce settlement with Tiger Woods: a mental health institute. Woods, however, has made an unsurprisingly self-centered move by snatching up some Manhattan property...will we see Rachel Uchitel move back to her hometown?
Tiger Woods has purchased a property in downtown Manhattan, reportedly in TriBeCa or SoHo, and moved into his new apartment this past weekend. A witness has reported spotting Woods walking around his new building "introducing himself as the new neighbor."
While this friendly move hardly sounds like the Tiger Woods we know, his spending millions on a New York flat is pretty characteristic (and Tiger: everybody knows the place to move these days is Brooklyn, not Manhattan).
Tiger Woods had been playing in this year's Barclays golf tournament across the Hudson River in New Jersey this weekend, so the geographical matchup for his Manhattan move actually works. Reports have suggested that their fling isn't over forever, and if Tiger ever wants to see the hush money of $10 million that he paid Uchitel, then he's gonna have to play the game...dontcha think?
