Tiger Woods Sponsors Pulling Out, "Reevaluating" Relationships
Brands no longer stand by their man...
It's official: Tiger Woods' sponsors are beginning to drop him. In the wake of the Ambien-influenced car crash and the infidelity scandal that haunts him, the first instance of full sponsorship drop comes from the international management consulting firm Accenture, a $23 billion company that has boasted Tiger's face on their brand for six years. Accenture has released a statement, along with a handful of other Tiger Woods' sponsors that threated $110 million in his endorsements.
Accenture said, "After careful consideration and analysis, the company has determined that he is no longer the right representative for its advertising," considering the "circumstances of the last two weeks." The company graciously added that it "wishes only the best for Tiger Woods and his family."
No word on exactly how much that split will cost, but here are updates on other Tiger Woods' sponsors. The luxury watch brand Tag Heuer reportedly has removed posters featuring Tiger from its windows. Tag Heuer, along with Gillette razors, is reportedly reconsidering its relationship with Tiger Woods. Gillette said, "As Tiger takes a break from the public eye, we will support his desire for privacy by limiting his role in our marketing programs." Gillette was the last brand to tout a Tiger Woods television advertisement, which took place on November 29 -- just two days after Tiger's car wreck and alleged affairs hit the news.
Meanwhile, despite putting the kabosh on its upcoming Tiger Focus drink, Gatorade says they still full support Tiger Woods. Longtime sponsor Nike joins Gatorade, insisting that Tiger Woods "is the best golfer in the world and one of the greatest athletes of his era," and that they "look forward to his return to golf." The gaming company Electronic Arts reports that they take a similar stance.

And for now AT&T rides the fence -- they had plans to put their logo on Tiger's golf bag, but now have come out to say,"We support Tiger's decision [to take a break from golf] and our thoughts will be with him and his family ... We are presently evaluating our ongoing relationship with him."
