Tila Tequila Says Rihanna Was Wrong
Tila Tequila Is Breaking Girl Code
Tila Tequila's UStream rant in which she complained about her ex-boyfriend, Shawne Merriman, is getting more press now that she's made some comments to TMZ about how Rihanna handled her abuse ordeal. This can't help Tila's $1.5 million lawsuit against Merriman for battery and false imprisonment. Let's take a look at some choice Tila quotes.
Tila first spoke (rambled?) about why she made the video in the first place. She told TMZ that the pressure was getting to her about the abuse case, and that's what drove her to record the long, naked spot on UStream.
"Well, you know, I couldn't sleep, and I started getting anxiety," she said to TMZ. "I just kind of flipped out a little bit."
Being called a "liar," as Tila put it, really made her feel frustrated.
"When my case first came out, everyone was calling me a liar because [they said] if he really did beat you, you wouldn't have said anything because Rihanna never said anything [at first]," Tila commented
"No offense to Rihanna, but because of what she did, it sends out a message to everyone ... 'When you get beat or abused, keep your mouth shut,' Tila continued. "So I decided I am going to come out and speak about it and fight for it..." she went on.
"What Rihanna did ... her message was to say quiet," Tila said, "and that's not OK."
Do you think that it's appropriate for Tila to be commenting on a celebrity's abuse case in a disparaging way? Besides the fact that everyone handles trouble differently, there's an abyss, not a fine line, between showing the paparazzi your bruises and hiding out while the media pursues you at every angle.
