Tim Burton Doesn't Think Alice in Wonderland Is Too Dark
Alice in Wonderland director Tim Burton has denied reports that his new movie is "too dark". Tim, 50, created the new adaptation of the movie, which stars Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, which is out next year.
Talking about claims that the film is too dark, he said: "To me, it's for kids. But I've run into that problem before. "I remember, like, on the Nightmare Before Christmas, it was like: 'Oh... it's too weird.' And yet kids love it. Alice is one that's always been, kind of, slightly subversive material. "But we're not doing anything racy or darker than the story."
