Timbaland Announces Le Sutra Liqueur

Ah, celebrities and their product lines. Clothing, fragrances ... even alcohol.

Timbaland is jumping on the booze bandwagon, set to release his own line of liqueur this summer.

Seems a far cry from his song, Ease Off the Liquor, huh?

Look for Timbaland's Le Sutra liqueur to be available in July.

What's it all about? Timbaland explains, "I make sexy music, and this is a sexy liqueur. It's like the perfect match."

Uh-huh. Whatever that means. Because everyone likes their booze on the sexy-side.

He adds, "It's like somebody just was thinking about me when they brought it to me. I'm not a heavy, heavy drinker, it's perfect for me. I can walk around all day and get a buzz. It'll boost me up for the meeting and not make me feel like I'm slurring."

He did explain that Le Sutra shares the same kind of vibe as Nuvo, the pink hip-hop drink that appeared in videos from Ludacris, Slim Thug, Jadakiss and Lil Kim.

T-Pain even gave Nuvo a bump by mentioning it in Jamie Foxx's "Blame It" ("I'ma take a shot of Nuvo.")

No doubt Timbaland should be able to sneak a mention of his Le Sutra into a song or video, right?

As for his involvement in the new liqueur, he says, "I am an owner. I own everything I do, from my publishing to my music. I don't do anything unless I own it."

Timbaland joins the ranks of booze mavens Bethenny Frankel (Skinnygirl Cocktails), Fergie (Voli vodka) and Jay-Z (Cattier's Armand de Brignac champagne), as well as Diddy (Ciroc).

Timbaland is looking to create drink recipes that include his Le Sutra and Diddy's Ciroc.

Sounds like a hip-hop dream cocktail made in heaven.
