Tomb Next to Marilyn Monroe up for Sale
She's waiting.
Just because Marilyn Monroe has been gone for almost 50 years doesn't mean you can't still get close to her. The tomb next to America's most famous blond bombshell is up for sale on Ebay, with a current tag of $4 million.
"Here is a once in a lifetime and into eternity opportunity to spend your eternal days directly above Marilyn Monroe," reads the auction, which started out at $500,000. The sale ends today, with 28 people bidding for the prize.
The spot originally belonged to a man by the name of Richard Poncher, who died 23 years ago. But now his wife is looking to sell the plot at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park cemetery in order to pay off her expensive Beverly Hills mortgage.
So if you happen to be a huge Marilyn fan with a whole lot of money to throw around, why not set aside a place for yourself right next to one of the 20th century's biggest stars?
Let's just hope you like your new digs. Because if you think about it, per square foot, this crypt is one of the most expensive pieces of real estate around.
