Transform Your Outfit with a Skinny Belt
Thanks to our friends at TheFind.com
Remember back in the day when you had to have belt loops in order to wear a belt? Then chunky belts that didn't require belt loops came into style. But now I'm totally stuck on skinny belts when it comes to tying an entire outfit together.
I'll admit it- I have a skinny belt obsession. I have a drawer full of them; one in ever color and material. And when I throw on my typical outfit of jeans, a tank top, and a cardigan, I almost always leave the cardigan open and put a skinny belt on over my waist.
Too often we ignore belts when it comes to accessorizing our outfits. But a skinny belt worn over clothing (instead of on your waist, hidden under your shirt) can add something to an outfit that no necklace or headband can do. It can add a pop of color to an otherwise all-black or drab outfit. And it can keep your open cardigan from hanging all over the place. But still allow your cute tank top to be the star of the outfit.
But you can wear a skinny belt over a simple shirt, too, no cardigan required. Do you feel totally drab in your black tank? Throw on a red skinny belt and you'll get a flash of color that will make you stand out in a crowd.
Of course, you can still wear a skinny belt on the belt loops of your pants or skirt. I especially love the skinny belt look with a high-waisted pencil skirt and blazer.
