'Twilight: New Moon,' 'Blind Side' Lead Weekend Movie Charge
Would you like extra blood on your popcorn?
So apparently there's this new movie coming out this weekend that nobody knows anything about. It's full of teenage vampires and werewolves, and there's lots of glitter and growling and shirtlessness. It's called Twilight: New Moon, and it's going to be the biggest sleeper hit of the year.
New Moon, the sequel to the low-budget indie film Twilight, features little-known actors like Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner in a battle between werewolves and vampires. When Edward Cullen (Pattinson) leaves town, Bella Swan (Stewart) falls into a deep depression. But soon she finds replacement romance in the arms of a hairless wolf-beast (Lautner).
Of course, there are other movies in the world. Like Blind Side with Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw. It's based on a true story about a homeless black kid taken in by a well-to-do white family. The film follows the young man's changing life (he becomes an all-American football player) as well the effect he has on his new family.
In The Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans, Nicolas Cage stars as a drug-addicted detective who runs wild through the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Directed by Werner Herzog, and co-starring Eva Mendes as Cage's prostitute lover, this film is Twilight for adults.
