Vamps on the attack!
.

Takes a very big bite.

The Twilight train rolls on, people. And it's picking up some serious steam. The much-anticipated Twilight DVD, which was released Friday at midnight, sold over 3 million copies on its first day.

The voracious appetite for the vamp flick was evident as fans lined up across the country to nab their very own piece of Edward Cullen. In Salt Lake City, 2,500 people showed up to the midnight release, while 2,000 came out in Los Angeles and 700 waited it out in New York.

Several of the DVD release events featured actors from the film - though, if we know the Twilight fans, they didn't need any extra incentive to snap up their own piece of Twilight history.

The big numbers put the Twilight DVD on par with some huge releases. It joins The Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Transformers to become one of the five best-selling DVDs of the last two years.
