Twilight Studio Blames Rachelle Lefevre for Losing Role of Victoria

Summit Entertainment has heard that Rachelle Lefevre is really disappointed that they took the role of Victoria from her in the Twilight movie Eclipse. And now they're telling their side of the story.

Summit says that Rachelle Lefevre didn't tell them she would be filming a movie in Europe during the opening days of Eclipse filming until July 20. According to them, "Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production."

Rachelle says she had no idea she would lose the role of Victoria over a 10-day commitment in Europe for Barney's Version.

We can kind of see both sides of the story. We're not sure why Rachelle thought she could simply skip the first 10 days of filming Eclipse. But we think she must have had reason to think it was OK or else she wouldn't jeopardize her role in Twilight for a small, indie film.

Summit says it was absolutely necessary that Rachelle be there for the beginning of the filming of Eclipse: "This period is essential for both rehearsal time with the cast, and for filming at key locations that are only available during the initial part of production."

So, we guess it makes sense. But you'd think Summit would excuse some of Rachelle's behavior to keep Twilight fans happy. Because right now, Twilight fans are really upset by the switching of Victorias. They want Rachelle back. Interestingly, Bryce Dallas Howard hasn't spoken out on her new role of Victoria. We think she's smart to stay quiet for now.
