Twilight's New Moon Lead Single By Death Cab Cutie

The soundtrack is coming together

We absolutely love that the Twilight soundtracks have actually been filled with really good, sometimes indie music. And we're incredibly excited to hear that Death Cab Cutie will be performing the lead single on the upcoming New Moon soundtrack!

Death Cab Cutie's new song, "Meet Me at the Equinox" will be the lead single on the New Moon soundtrack. How awesome is that? They actually wrote the song specifically for Twilight and they'll be performing it for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 13.

We wouldn't really place the boys of Death Cab for Cutie to be Twilight fans, but apparently they are. In an interview, they say they've been reading the books and have gotten "a kick out of them." They also love that the books and movies take place in Forks, Washington, because Death Cab is from the North West as well.

Radiohead's Thom Yorke will also be debuting a new song for the Twilight soundtrack and we also hear that Bon Iver and Grizzly Bear have tracks. we can't wait to see what else it includes. The soundtrack is set to be released on October 20.
