Urban Outfitters to Launch Wedding Line
A very urban wedding
Everybody wants to get a little piece of the wedding industry and Urban Outiftters is no different. The store you know for their hip and slightly hippy-ish clothing is planning to launch a wedding line. And I think this is something that really could work for them!
The wedding gowns aren't exactly going to be marketed to hipsters and they're not really going to be inexpensive. But still, I have a feeling plenty of brides who are fans of Urban Outfitters, Anthropolgie, and Free People will be checking the new line out. The gowns will be heirloom and meant to be passed down from generation to generation; with price points between $1,000 and $5,000.
It sounds like they eventually want to be a one-stop shop for brides and Urban Outfitters CEO Glen Senk says, "We want to offer a community for brides... Travel services, wedding planning and flowers are things we could potentially offer. We're trying not to be just about selling products. We want to help the bride plan the wedding."
I think an Urban Outfitters bridal party would be beautiful and can't wait to check out all the jewelry, accessories, and more! Urban Outfitters new bridal business is set to open in time for Valentine's Day of 2011.
