Was Carrie Underwood Rude To Taylor Swift? (Video)
Country Music Awards closing was awkward.
It's said that Taylor Swift helped push country music sales up 89% this year, so it may be no wonder she walked out with Wednesday's Country Music Awards Entertainer of the Year trophy -- or what Faith Hill referred to as "tonight's highest honor." But after her acceptance speech that brought the audience to their feet, what CMA host Carrie Underwood did was a little...rude, no?
After accepting a kiss from co-nominee Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift took the stage to tell the crowd that she would "never forget this moment" because "everything that I have ever wanted has just happened to me."
The crowd went crazy when Taylor pulled her band onstage, and as they exited upstage, Underwood and her co-host Brad Paisley hugged Swift then took the mike. Paisley praised Taylor Swift to the audience, saying "How about that, 19 years old, I can't even imagine--" and then Carrie Underwood interrupts him! "And how were we?" Underwood polls the audience about her posting job with Paisley. "We were awesome."
What's the verdict on Carrie Underwood, rude or enthusiastic? Check out the footage here.
(By the way, Twilight/New Moon star Taylor Lautner is definitely one of Taylor Swift's biggest fans - but he doesn't want to appear in her songs!)
