Was Kristen Stewart Hand Picked By Joan Jett for The Runaways?

Does Joan Jett love Kristen Stewart as much as we do?

It's being asked if Joan Jett actually picked Kristen Stewart to play herself in the upcoming biopic, The Runaways. They seem to be getting along pretty well and Kristen Stewart has been channeling Joan Jett fantastically.

The truth is, Joan Jett likely had nothing to do with picking Kristen Stewart to play her, but she seems to be happy with the decision.

Right after the casting was announced, Joan Jett's website said, "While Joan is not involved with the casting decisions, she is eager to see Kristen's work and meet with her about the upcoming role." And the two have been spotted meeting, in similar haircuts and matching outfits.

According to producer Jeff Tokofsky, "Usually, biopics are movies produced about public figures, which means they can be portrayed any way the filmmaker wishes to portray them," which makes sense to us. It's said that while producers don't usually give the icon a say in who portrays them, they obviously want to make the icon happy and oftentimes even ask for their blessing in a casting choice.
