Website Auctioning Virginity of 20-Year-Old Female and Male [VIDEO]
The Highest Bid for the Woman Is $160,000 So Far … $1,300 for the Male
Yes, this is a real thing: a website is auctioning of the virginities of a 20-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man and filming the experience for a documentary on sexual relations.
VirginsWanted.com is auctioning off the virginity of 20-year-old Brazilian Catarina Migliorini, who says she wants to raise money for a home-building charity in her hometown.
"For me, it's not prostitution," Migliorini told a Brazilian newspaper (via Jezebel.com). "When someone does something once in his or her life, this is not considered a profession. If you take a picture and it comes out good, you are not a photographer because of it."
So far, the bid for Migliorini's auction, which ends on Oct. 15, is up to $160,000, and the "winning" bidder is a U.S. citizen named Jack Miller.
The names of the bidders -- or at least, the names they're using to bid -- are displayed on the website, alongside the amount they bid.
As for the male virgin, Alexander, his highest bid is a relatively paltry $1,300 and comes from a Brazilian woman named Anahi Estefan.
Catarina and Alexander will each be paid a $20,000 fee for selling their virginity, as well as 90 percent of the winning bids.
They will each use condoms, their bidders will be tested for sexually-transmitted diseases before the transaction is completed and the actual, well, completion of the transaction, will take place on an airplane flight from Australia to the United States, to avoid laws against prostitution, the U.K. Daily Mail reports.
In addition to the just plain ickiness of the scenario, color us a bit skeptical about how real the whole thing is. For instance, Migliorini says she wants to raise money for the poor in her hometown, but, as you can see in the videos below and the photos on VirginsWanted.com and other websites, she seems to have a plethora of model poses and pics at the ready.
She will be followed throughout the experience by the Thomas William Productions film crew behind the documentary, and she did also tell a Brazilian newspaper, "I saw this as a business. I have the opportunity to travel, to be part of a movie and get a bonus with it."
