Wesley Snipes Released From Prison
Snipes Served For Willfully Failing To File Taxes
Wesley Snipes is a free man. The Blade actor has been released from prison after serving almost two and a half years for tax evasion.
Snipes, 50, left prison and was sent to a supervised residence in New York, said the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Most famous for playing the vampire slayer Blade in the action trilogy of the same name, Snipes was first charged with attempting to defraud the U.S. government in 2006 as part of his belief that the domestic income of U.S. citizens is not actually taxable.
The actor's disagreement with Uncle Sam got him convicted on three counts of tax evasion in 2008, and he began serving his sentence at McKean Federal Correctional Institution in Pennsylvania in Dec. 2010.
Snipes has yet to comment on his release or his future film projects, but there are rumors that he will join the cast of the next Expendables movie with Sylvester Stallone.
