Where I Stood- Song of the Day
I heard "Where I Stood" by Missy Higgins for the first time on cold January night on the subway. And for the next 45 minutes of my ride, I continued to push repeat. Six months later and I'm still listening.
I didn't have anything particularly sad going on in my life at the moment. But the song was so incredibly sad in a way that made me feel so good. You know that feeling? I had one of those moments where I was completely immersed in the song while watching everyone bundled up in the winter coats just trying to get home.
Missy Higgins is an Australian singer and has quickly become one of my very favorite female musicians. But, no matter what, I feel like "Where I Stood" will always remain the most special of her songs to me.
"I don't know what I've done/Or if I like what I've begun/But something told me to run/And honey, you know me, it's all or none...'Cos I don't know who I am, who I am without you/All I know is that I should/And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you/All I know is that I should/'Cos she will love more than I could/She who dares to stand where I stood."
Today's pick- "Where I Stood" by Missy Higgins
