Here's where Brad and Angelina spent their family Sunday.

Clearly Jennifer Aniston wasn't the only A-lister missing from the Oscars on Sunday night. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's absence was as notable as their presence would have been. Here's what they did instead of celebrating the Oscars.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took their children to a kids' birthday party in Venice. How are their kids making Italian friends? It was the birthday of The Tourist director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck's daughter, and the Jolie-Pitt brood was invited! It's said Brad, Angelina, Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh traveled by water taxi from their rented Venetian apartment to von Donnersmarck's private dwellings. (One-and-a-half-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne are thought to have stayed with nannies.)

Meanwhile Brad Pitt had been pursued to present at this year's Oscars, as his Inglourious Basterds was one of the high-profile films of the night. But with neither Pitt nor Jolie up for any awards the pair ducked out, and they'd informed the press weeks ago that they wouldn't attend the 2010 Oscars.
