Who Knew? Lesbians Love Tequila More Than Gay Men, Heterosexuals
Tequila companies, take note of this very important statistic: a marketing company report about the eating, drinking and going out preferences of gay people has concluded that lesbians are the biggest consumers of tequila.
Our friends at YourTango.com -- in honor of the 25th anniversary of National Coming Out Day this week -- have reported the findings of an infographic presented by the marketing company Target 10, which said 35 percent of lesbians report drinking tequila, as opposed to 25 percent of gay men, 19 percent of straight men and 17 percent of straight women.
The marketing report doesn't offer any analysis of the findings, unfortunately, and we'll second YourTango's request for feedback on why the lesbian community reportedly loves tequila.
Among the other more interesting findings in the marketing report:
-- Gay men are bigger foodies than straight men: 68 percent of gay men say they enjoy eating foreign foods, while only 43 percent of straight men do;
-- Straight and lesbian women are twice more likely than straight and gay men to seek out organic foods when shopping;
-- Gay men are twice as likely to cook for fun than straight men. Again, we echo YourTango's call for straight men to start stepping up to the stove more often; 57 percent of gay men say they've cooked for fun in the past year, while only 28 percent of straight men can say the same thing.
