Whoopi Slams Kate Gosselin Over Custody: Video
So many children, so much vitriol.
Kate Gosselin does not want to cross The Whoopi. The reality show star ventured onto The View as guest co-host last week and met a barrage of criticism from Goldberg over her custody dispute with estranged husband Jon Gosselin.
Since announcing their split on their popular TLC reality show, Jon and Kate Plus 8, earlier this year, the couple have fired accusations at each other ranging from adultery to negligence.
In the following months, the fight has gotten even more intense. In one incident, police were called to the home of Jon Gosselin after Kate showed up during his court-alloted time with the kids. This is what set Whoopi Goldberg off when Kate Gosselin visited The View last week.
"When you go in to a custody thing with someone you have your specific time and [they have] their specific time and you're not supposed to walk on [that]," Goldberg began. "And I'm sorry that's the law."
But Gosselin vs. Goldberg 2009 didn't have the fireworks that you've come to expect from either side. In fact, Gosselin was quick to clarify that she was not necessarily proud of her actions.
"I've learned my lesson and I have learned that it was not a good thing," she said. "I realized that I was wrong and it was his custody and will I do it again? No, but it doesn't answer to me, like, a babysitter I've never met or approved of. And that bothers me."
Then, of course, co-host Joy Behar had to go and ruin everything by making the chat comfortable again.
"The beauty of this story," she said, "is that he was winning the PR wars when you were on the air, they were talking about how you picked on him and you were shrewish," Behar joked, adding, "You don't look shrewish."
