Why Didn't Anyone Show Up to Honor Tom Cruise?
Wife Katie Holmes and other notable allies not present at ceremony
This past Tuesday, Tom Cruise was presented with the Friars Club Entertainment Icon award. Alec Baldwin presided over the event, and the guests included former co-stars Cuba Gooding Jr. and Kevin Pollak as well as musical performers like Robin Thicke and Corinne Rae Bailey. But the A-listers were a no show.
Even Katie Holmes was AWOL. What gives?
While Holmes was absent, their 6-year-old daughter, Suri, was in attendance with her half-brother, Connor.
Though there was some pretty rough weather to contend with that night, that usually doesn't stop most celebs from attending ceremonies such as this, and some were a little surprised that Cruise's pals like Will Smith and David Beckham didn't make an appearance at the event.

Perhaps this is a sign that Cruise just isn't the Hollywood heavyweight that he used to be ... Has the man who made couch jumping a "thing" jumped the shark? Has his connection to Scientology sullied the public's view of him? Or, was it just a fluke?
Maybe the box office receipts for Rock Of Ages, which hits theaters on Friday, will paint a brighter picture for Tom Cruise.
