Will 2010 Be Brighter For Tiger Woods, Chris Brown, Jon Gosselin?
Times couldn't get much worse than 2009 for these celebs.
If you seethe for controversy -- especially of the celeb variety -- then you're probably sad to see 2009 go...to be honest, so are we. Here are the shocker star stories of the year that kept us coming back for more...what were they thinking?!
Chris Brown. You know what we're talking about. The domestic violence riff with Rihanna has all but destroyed this kid's career. It happened in February, filling all of 2009 with almost as much pain for Brown as he inflicted on Rihanna. Ticket sales are down, but interestingly, new album sales are doing okay...too bad Chris didn't know that before he launched an online lynching on WalMart for not selling his album when they were sold out. It begs the question: should Chris Brown be ignored in 2010
Jon Gosselin. Jon Gosselin lost everything when he lost Kate Gosselin. No seriously, everything: we're talking wife, kids, job and millions of dollars. When the pair announced on Jon & Kate Plus 8 last spring that they'd made plans to split, Jon used his freedom as an opportunity to make a public ass of himself. Remember the multiple college-aged girlfriends? How about the bromance with deadbeat stage dad Michael Lohan? And if ditching his kids on Thanksgiving grossed you out, you might have experienced a tingle of gratification when Kate won out in their divorce. We did.
Tiger Woods. Oh Tiger. Way to completely eff up your life. We woke up groggy after Thanksgiving dinner to the shock that Tiger had totaled his car and wrecked his marriage with over a dozen affairs during his marriage to former swimsuit model Elin Nordegren. If you followed any of our stories (they were our hottest-sought of the year), you know the class of women he's been extracurricular-ing with...it's not pretty. Meanwhile his bad personal decisions have knocked his world-renowned career on its behind. Hey Tiger, how's that hiatus?
Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay Lohan, where to begin? This is one case where a celeb can't be blamed, at least not fully, for the public humiliation that haunts her everywhere she goes. Lindsay Lohan's parents seem as guilty of her bad rap as she is, as Michael and Dina Lohan frequently use their daughter to manipulate each other and heighten their own profile. The biggest shocker this year? Michael sold a conversation with Dina on tape that revealed Lindsay Lohan cuts herself. Maybe in 2010 Lindsay will put her clothes back on, put out her cigarette, screw the lid on the bottle and go to church, or just...sleep.

Kanye West. No longer one of the most sought-after men in entertainment, Kanye West had a brutal year. Kanye's outburst that upstaged Taylor Swift sent America (especially Taylor Lautner) raging and left Kanye looking like an insensitive and classless drunk. After that event in September he blew off a couple more outbursts, and then disappeared...however it's hilarious that Billboard named him and Taylor Swift top male and female artists of 2009, respectively. Kanye took to his blog to save face for the public: "WOW!!! SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE I'M IN A MOVIE. THANK YOU FOR THE HONOR." Nice try, buddy. Let's see you clean up your act next decade.
