Does Twilight need a spin-off?

The Twilight series has been a huge success in all kinds of media. And the producers of the Twilight movies are starting to worry about what they'll do when all the movies are made. After all, there are only four Twilight books. Is a Twilight spin-off in the future?

There are currently four books in the Twilight series that will definitely be made into movies. Allegedly, there may be a fifth book too. The book, Midnight Sun, is currently unfinished due to Stephenie Meyer stopping writing after it was leaked on the Internet. But, this one definitely won't be movie 5 as it is Twilight written from Edward's perspective, instead of Bella's. It's another amazing story from Meyer, but probably not the next movie in the saga.

So in the meantime, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn are all being scheduled for filming. And producers are wondering what will come next. And one answer that keeps coming up? A spin-off.

According to one of the producers, Greg Mooradian, if there was a spin-off it would likely focus on the vampire group in Italy called Volturi, which features Dakota Fanning as Jane, a high-ranking member. Mooradian says, "Stay tuned. I think if our movies do as well as the first did all possibilities are out there. But right now we need to finish what we have and finish Stephenie's vision as best we can and then let's see where the audience demands us to go from there."

You have to admit you'll miss Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and the rest of the Twilight crew after the movies are over. Do you think Twilight producers should plan a spin-off without Edward, Bella, Jacob and the Cullens? Instead of the Volturi, how about a movie all about where the Cullens came from?
