With These Changes, Wendy's Wants to Be a 5-Star Restaurant (At a 3 Star Price)
New Touches Also Include Softer Lighting and Flatscreen TVs
Well, hello gorgeous! In an effort to keep up with the times, popular fast food chain Wendy's has given its logo and iconic poster girl a new look.
Gone is the Wild West-themed signage touting "Old Fashioned Hamburgers." It's been replaced by a more modern, more stylish script that reads simply "Wendy's." And Wendy herself has lost the dowdy dress. The brighter, more flattering rendering simply depicts the cute redhead from the neck up. According to some critics, she even looks a tad come-hither.
It's not the only change the company has made in an attempt to rebrand itself as a more upscale eatery. New, renovated locations will feature flat screen televisions and softer lighting. Says CEO Emil Brolick, "Our goal is to be a five star restaurant at a three-star price."

We have a feeling the real five star restaurants aren't exactly shaking in their boots over Wendy's. That said, we do appreciate the effort. Not only does Wendy's offer more healthy options than most fast food restaurants, it's nice to see that they care about the customers' experiences.
Though, we're pretty sure McDonald's isn't "lovin' it".
