'Wonder Years' Danica McKellar Expecting Baby
Winnie is pregnant!
Danica McKellar, the actress who played Winnie on the classic television show Wonder Years alongside Fred Savage, has announced she and her husband, Mike Verta, are pregnant with their first child.
"I'm nearing the end of my first trimester and I'm so excited – I've been bursting to tell people," McKellar, 35, told People magazine.
"When you do take the home pregnancy test, it doesn't quite seem real," she said. "But when you see the baby and the heartbeat on the ultrasound, it's so incredible. Me and Mike looked at each other and we could not stop the tears. We are so happy."
McKellar rose to fame as Winnie Cooper, the love interest of Fred Savage's Kevin Arnold. Nowadays, however, Danica writes math books.
She studied Mathematics at UCLA, graduated summa cum laude, and is now the author of several books like "Math Doesn't Suck: How to Survive Middle-School Math without Losing Your Mind or Breaking a Nail" and "Kiss My Math: Showing Pre-Algebra Who's Boss."
Her third book, "Hot X: Algebra Exposed," comes out in August.
