Zooey Deschanel Marries Rocker Ben Gibbard

Actress Zooey Deschanel may be the crush of every indie kid from New York to San Francisco, but now her fans will have to look elsewhere. Deschanel tied the knot this weekend with her musician boyfriend, Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard.

According to Deschanel's rep, the couple were married in a private ceremony on saturday in Seattle. They had been dating until Gibbard proposed last December with a three-carat diamond and a platinum Neil Lane ring.

Deschanel can currently be seen in the romantic comedy (500) Days of Summer alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt. She also sings and plays banjo and the piano for the band She & Him, an indie folk duo with singer-songwriter M. Ward.

Her new husband, Ben Gibbard, is the lead singer for Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service. Death Cab's new EP record, The Open Door, was released in May. Also, their song "Meet Me on the Equinox" was selected as the lead single for the upcoming soundtrack to the new Twilight sequel, New Moon.
