You Just Became a Huge Tim McGraw Fan, Right?

If you weren't already a fan of country music superstar Tim McGraw, you are so gonna be: McGraw has announced that, during his summer tour, he will give away a house (a house!) to one military veteran family on each of the tour's 25 stops.

McGraw kicks off the campaign with a Memorial Day concert for military members at the Beacon Theater in New York City, during Fleet Week.

And then his joint summer tour with fellow country star Kenny Chesney -- the Brothers of the Sun tour -- kicks off June 2 in Tampa, with stops in Atlanta, Dallas, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Nashville, Cincinnati, Denver, Houston, Detroit and several other major cities.

At each stop, McGraw will present one wounded, disabled or needy military vet family with a mortgage-free home, Wonderwall.com reports.

"My sister's a veteran, my uncle's a veteran, my grandfather was a veteran, one of my best friends is a veteran," McGraw said. "I've known people my whole life who are in service to America. And I think in my position to be able to do something like that is probably the ultimate thing. So to be able to go on tour and provide sort of a stable foundation for a veteran and their family is something I really look forward to."

The charity Operation Homefront and Chase are McGraw's partners on the project, called Homefront, with contributions also coming from the Academy of Country Music's ACM Lifting Lives program and The Premier Group (on behalf of the North Carolina Furniture Manufacturers).

"It's going to be a great opportunity to set a family on track that's done so much for us and my family," McGraw said. "So I can't imagine a better thing to do on tour. It's going to be fun -- I mean every tour date we're going to be out there."

Good to see a celebrity who truly walks the walk.

I think Tim and Faith are doing a work for the MASTER himself. So many of our veterans are forgotten and just left behind and ignored and much worse then this are the widos and children left behind to deal with the loss of thier father and best friend such as it is in my case. My husband passed away suddenly on our twenty first anniversary and our grandaughters first day of her senior year of high school. He left me with a kiss as usual and and as I said I Love you honey his reply as always was Love you too babe. After he left I waited for him to return he was always very punctual I had been disabled a few years before and I knew and begged him with tears just three days before he died to please go to a Docter but he was a man and his answer was NO absolutly not I will not go please honey stop asking me to go even though I sensed the loss was on its way.. He never made it back home we only had a small apartment he had been retired from his job in 2007 and he just started walking and writing short stories as the weight and the tremors got worse. A few days before he passed away I had such an urgency to leave the sofa I had been sleeping on the sofa because he had bad dreams I have no idea whqat they were but he would wake up fighting and he was afraid he would hurt me so I made up the excuse that the bed was hurting my back and started sleeping on the sofa. After waiting for about twenty five minutes a knock was heard on my door I looked through the eye hole to see who it was. My nightmare was true. Two Police officers were standing there and I opened the door they asked me if I was Mrs James T Miller I said yes. They said Is anyone here with you and my heart sank to the floor. It will be two years on August twenty fifth our Anniversary we would have been married twenty three years but he passes away on our twenty first Anniversary. Strange isen't it. the first day of our deaf and legally blind develepomentally delayed grandaughters high school senior year and also our twenty first Anniversary and his death. We had a home early in our marraige then we took over the care of our grandchild due to her mother not being able to take care of her now since We Lost her daddy and I Lost my one and only Soul mate I feel Lost and alone and we have lost everythin due to the lack of life insurance and not enough coming in my credit is ruined and I saw that you were coming to Cincinnati sometime I would Love to come to see you and Kenny and Faith but that would be impossible for an old lady like me . But If there was a chance that we would maybe be considered to have our names put in to the bowl to be drawn for a simple little house I would be forever grateful for I would know if something ever happened to me my baby would always have a home and she would have her social security to help her get through life. Chelsea is going to be twenty in July of this year. I do hope that whoever gets a new house they will have a sweet white picket fence and a porch with a swing to sit on in the summertime. May GOD BLESS YOU ALL INYOU WORK YOU DO FOR HIM. Thank YOU MRS JAMES T MILLER My husband served in the United States Army Vietnam
