The musicals Fela! about Nigerian artist and activist Fela Kuti, and La Cage aux Folles, which surrounds a drag club in Paris, tied for the lead with 11 nominations each.
A few big name actors, however, were left out of the Tony nominations. Also, The Addams Family musical, starring Nathan Lane and Bebe Nuewirth, bombed with critics and fans alike.
