4 Tips for Bare Beauty
Easy Trends
Are you a fan of bare beauty? Even if you live and breathe lipstick + blush, you can find a way to bring a lighter hand into your spring look. The trick? Hunt down sheer makeup and beauty tricks that make you feel like you're a real makeup artiste... even though nobody will know you're wearing makeup but you.
I can understand why you might want to stick with your usual beauty routine, not lightening up on the tried-and-true layers. You'll have to reevaluate your coloring, change your routine, and buy new products. The good news? Bare beauty trends usually allow you to buy extremely low-cost products... that's perfect for a limited budget.
Here are a few products you might want to use this spring to stay trendy:
1. Skip blush and buy witch hazel. Tone your cheeks to remove excess oil, and then go without foundation or blush this spring. Stick to sheer, tinted moisturizer and blotting paper used throughout the day.,
2. Buy brown or clear mascara... and don't forget to brush those lashes. Your eyelashes, when separated and curled, look better than when coated with sticky black mascara, anyway. Curl your lashes, apply brown on the top, clear on the bottom, and then brush your lashes. Wait until the mascara dries to re-curl.
3. Pick up fabulous-tasting tinted lip glosses from natural grocery stores. I have found some great products at The Vitamin Shoppe, and you might want to shop for tinted glosses no darker than your natural lip color there.
4. Get hair oils and serums. Hot almond oil hair massages are amazing, and they can deliver luster in a snap. Other people swear by geranium or castor oil, and don't forget about a vinegar-water rinse to ditch a flaky post-winter scalp for less.
