Make Your Run Fly By

Are you looking for a way to make your run go by faster? Here's what you should try if you get sick of pounding on the machines day after day. I've tried all of these, and they really work.

1. Try using the buddy system so you don't slack and get off early. Having a friend next door will be motivating, more entertaining, and just give you a general sense of companionship.

2. Switch your iPod with a friend. Fresh music can do wonders.

3. Watch a movie--preferably with modelesque characters. Whenever I watch TV or a movie in the gym and it features Adriana Lima types, I feel more motivated to work out.

4. Go the book on tape route. I like action books, not the more dialogue-heavy type. It makes for a more amusing treadmill experience, and you can drown out the treadmill talker next door.

How do you avoid getting bored on the 'mill?
