Alex Rodriguez Has Paintings of Himself as a Centaur

So that's how he hits all those home runs.

With all the home runs he hits for the New York Yankees, some fans would say baseball star Alex Rodriguez is part-man and part-horse. Well, A-Rod may agree with them -- according to an ex-lover, he once had two paintings of himself as a centaur hanging above his bed.

As the ex-fling tells Us Weekly, Rodriguez apparently liked the look of himself morphed into an animal. "He had not one, but two painted portraits of himself as a centaur," she says. "You know, the half man, half horse figure?"

"He was so vain," she says. "It was ridiculous."

Of course, Rodriguez definitely has plenty of reason to think highly of himself. 275 million reasons, to be exact. That's how many dollars the star third baseman is getting paid over the next 10 years by the Yankees. And if he can lead his team to another World Series championship this week, he'll have even more reasons.

But a centaur?! The man hits little balls with a stick for a living. That's a farcry from being a magical, mythological horse-man.

Still, Kate Hudson can't be too unhappy with a guy who horses around in the bedroom. Literally.
