American Idol Reject Doesn't Regret Begging, Throwing Fit
She's glad she got it out
When I watched American Idol, as Jessica Furney was told she wasn't moving on in the competition, I cringed. Instead of standing up and leaving, Jessica begged for another chance. It was desperate and pointless. The judges are not going to change their mind on a contestant because the contestant cries and begs. But Jessica doesn't regret throwing the fit.
Jessica and her family watched her performance on American Idol when it aired the other night and says she doesn't regret anything. According to Jessica, "I have no regrets and I feel pretty good about it to be honest with you... I felt that I had to speak up for myself and didn't just want to walk away without saying anything. I felt the judges were pretty fair to me and Simon has been a lot worse in the past -he didn't rip into me or anything like that he was totally honest."
OK, I really doubt Jessica's outburst scored her any points in the music industry (can you say dive already?), but I suppose it's good she got her emotions out. And the 21-year-old Kansas native says she's not ready to give up on the music industry: "I'm definitely not giving up on my dream of pursuing music as a career and the experience has made me stronger."
Jessica did make it quite far in the competition; she just wasn't chosen as one of the final 24. She's actually tried out for the show several times before, and this is the farthest she's ever made it. She says she probably won't try out again because things will be too different without Simon Cowell as a judge. Do you think Jessica has a chance to make it in the music industry?
And do you have a favorite from American Idol's season 9 top 24?
