Androgynous Male Model, Andrej Pejic Covers Elle Magazine
Male Model Andrej Pejic's Beauty Has Become Mainstream
He's been a modeling sensation since New York Fashion Week in 2011 and now andorgynous male model Andrej Pejic has landed his first major fashion magazine cover.
.
The 21 year-old Bosnian born model, a muse to designer Jean-Paul Gaultier among others, graces the latest cover of U.S. fashion magazine, Elle.
He was born in Bosnia (pre-war) and moved to Australia with his family when he was 8. His career launched in London where he'd pose as both a male and a female -- he does the same in the issue of Elle.
“I know people want me to sort of defend myself, to sit here and be like, ‘I’m a boy, but I wear makeup sometimes.’ But, you know, to me, it doesn’t really matter,” Pejic told New York Magazine which he covered last year. “I don’t really have that sort of strong gender identity — I identify as what I am.”
