Angelina Jolie Adopting From Haiti
Another Jolie adoption in progress.
Angelina Jolie loves babies: she's birthed three and adopted three and is now said to be bringing another one under her roof. This next Jolie adoption is a result of her recent trips to Haiti, and Angelina has been meeting with officials to make it happen.
Angelina Jolie has made multiple trips to Haiti following the devastating earthquake there in January. At first, Jolie's camp was putting the kabosh on rumors that she was looking to adopt a Haitian child, but a new report suggests that the adoption proceedings are already underway. A source has told a British newspaper, "She met officials and there has been a lot of talk that she is desperate to help the children. She is thinking of adopting one."
Although Jolie may encounter more complications with these adoption proceedings than she has for her children who hailed from Asian and African countries. Haiti is known for what many experts call its "ever-changing adoption process," especially since the earthquake has caused so much chaos to the country's policies. It's often the case, however, that well known personalities are able to corral forces in order to convince the adoptive country to waive its policies because the child would be offered such a quality life as the child of a celebrity. However, there's also the complication of her marital status. Angelina Jolie co-parents her six kids with partner Brad Pitt, but some countries won't allow unmarrieds to adopt a baby.

Fortunately adoption procedure cost is one factor that would clearly pose no problem: According to Web chatter, the fee for adopting from Haiti appears to range between $2,200 and $25,000 (Jolie's last reported salary for a film was $20 million).
