Angelina Jolie Gets Sequel in 'Salt 2'
Director Phillip Noyce not returning.
Angelina Jolie wants to give you hypertension. The actress will star in another helping of 'Salt,' the 2010 espionage thriller that grossed nearly $300 million despite puckering the tastebuds of critics everywhere.

You know how bad restaurants put extra salt in dishes to mask overall flavorlessness? That may be the idea for 'Salt 2,' where a double pinch of Angelina Jolie seems to be enough to get folks into theaters.
Kurt Wimmer, who penned the first 'Salt' script, is reportedly hunched over in a dark corner somewhere conjuring up a sequel to last year's action flick, in which Jolie played a Russian-trained CIA agent.

For her part, Jolie has said she would "do the 'Salt' sequel if it comes together right."
But the recipe may need a major tweak: in an interview with Moviehole in December, director Phillip Noyce has said he would not return to direct a sequel.
"If there ever is a sequel, better its directed by someone with a completely fresh take on what I believe could be a totally entertaining and complex series of stories," he said.
